Is the Fender Squier a good electric guitar for a beginner?

Yes it is but it depends if it is an actual squier versus a squier starcaster. the Starcaster gets out of tune fast, which is good for a beginner to lean to tune his/her guitar. , but it also makes it harder to learn. If you do get the Starcaster begginers kit make sure you get a thicker gauge of strings so it will stay in tune longer also with their mini amp the sound is awesome, rich and lous and the distortion is on the amp. good luck
