Ella, I would say emphatically no, and my very-knowledgeable spousal-partner agrees. The problem is with the inner liner, which is essentially a cellular-foam material. Protected by the outer vinyl skins, there is no worry about minimal moisture intrusion or UV rays invading the foam; however, introduce detergent and water, and you are asking for trouble. I would just concentrate on cleaning the outside with soap suds or even chemicals (naptha, alcohol, etc.), and see what you are able to remove. Using the washing machine, the moisture retained in the foam may even have a harmful effect on your instrument. Best regards, Dana
